Eternals is already one of the most divisive Marvel movies ever
Eternals reviews are in – and they hint at the Chloé Zhao-directed Marvel epos being one of the most divisive MCU entries yet.
Piece our own four-star review praises the film's "sense of purpose and gravitas that feels strikingly akin in places to Denis Villeneuve's new Dune," others were less kind.
"There's just too much releas on," reads The Guardian's 2-star review. "It's non exactly boring – there's always something novel to behold – just nor IT is particularly exciting, and IT lacks the breezy wit of Marvel's best movies."
IndieWire bemoans Eternals' want of hope to wrestle free from Wonder's reliable-and-well-tried formula, saying "IT still amounts to several hours of observation good actors save the world from big CGI, as philosophical differences come out into a weightless struggle royale while civilization itself hangs in the balance."
On a to a greater extent positive note, Perceiver calls Eternals "a film full of wonder and romance fueled by an agendum and temerity all its own," while Screen Rant is similarly emotional: "[Eternals] is a stimulating, epic superhero gamble entirely its own, with a captivating emotional heart brought to liveliness attractively by Zhao's direction."
A you might imagine, that's led to Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic reflective the mixed response from critics. The latter carries a 71% critical response, the third-lowest MCU entranceway of all time (as of piece of writing – that could change) ahead of The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark Macrocosm.
Metacritic, interim, averages out at 58/100. Past that metric, information technology's the fourth-lowest rated MCU movie ever made. If cipher else, it's likely a movie that's going to dominate the discourse for weeks to come – for better or worsened.
